Solid casting move. Report: Margot Robbie to play Harley Quinn in 'Suicide Squad' - Batman News: "Margot Robbie has been tied to Suicide Squad for weeks, and now we know what part she was up for. According to Collider, Margot Robbie has been cast as Harley Quinn. This comes right after the news that Jared Leto is close to signing onto the movie as the Joker. Margot Robbie got her big break last year in The Wolf of Wall Street, and has a ton of high profile movies lined up for the coming years. Suicide Squad would be another great one to add to the résumé. Warner Bros. hasn’t made an official announcement about any Suicide Squad casting yet, but we can expect it soon. The David Ayer directed movie will hit theaters in August 2016, which means they’ll probably be shooting in the spring."
Margot Robbie Reportedly Cast as "Suicide Squad's" Harley Quinn - Comic Book Resources: "Just a few days after word began circulating that Jared Leto is being eyed for the role of the Joker in "Suicide Squad," Collider has heard from an unnamed source that actress Margot Robbie has signed on to play the Bat-villain's main squeeze -- Harley Quinn. Robbie is best known for her role in Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street" and has been on a shortlist of celebrities rumored for roles in the supervillain team-up movie. Director David Ayer has reportedly been courting Will Smith and Tom Hardy in addition to Leto and Robbie. With Robbie possibly signed on already, the other rumored actors may not be far behind. The Wrap reported on Friday that Smith, Hardy and Leto were all in various stages of discussion regarding starring in the film, and that Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor is scheduled to make an appearance."
