This is Yuko. Besides being an obviously great lover of photography, she's also a volunteer translator at the local board of ed... Whereas many JET's have to struggle with the language barrier at schools, particularly elementary schools, where there may not be anyone who can speak any degree of English, Yuko's been going with me to classes to make everything easier...
She actually spent a few years living in Pennsylvania, going to school and then dancing ballet. Speaks English like a native. Albeit with a Philly accent. A slight injury brought her back home to Fukutsu a couple months ago and then her mom... ummm... "volunteered" her help to the school board. Been just a marvelous help... And makes my job even easier, as if that were possible...
