"There are no lines... I say erase all the lines."

"When did thinking become not entertaining?"

God damn I wish Bill Hicks were still alive.

"I'm Batman. Bitches."

Training 145-146.

145 - Diet - Coffee 2 steaks shake 1.2L

PT - Upper Body - completed. Stats elsewhere.

146 - Free/Rest. Enkai tomorrow as while. Gonna take a few days off and start back Monday with a different training protocol. I'm plateauing like a motherfu**er.

This year is really gonna fuck up my perception of time.

Despite the admittedly lax summer teaching schedule, looking at the calendar, at the past-present-future weekends, it shows Thailand/rest/birthday party/enkai/ballet recital/dinner/bachan/undokai and BBQ.

And boom, just like that, it's October and 10 months left.

Anybody know how to retard or stop the flow of time? Anyone? Bueller?

An equitable solution.

"LUKE CAGE
PROBLEM: Fanboys complaining that movie Luke Cage takes fashion cues from Bendis-era New Avengers rather than 70s-period tiara/afro/yellow puffy shirt.
SOLUTION: Death camps."

Continued wimpification of the world.

You know. For the children. Jesus.

RossTraining.com Blog » Let a kid be a kid - Part II:
"...Nine-year-old Jericho Scott was recently told by the Youth Baseball League of New Haven, Connecticut that he is too good to pitch in the league... The eight league team, with approximately 100 players has decided that Jericho throws the ball too fast for the rest of the league.

...My own state is kicking kids out of little league because they are too good! What the hell is going on? What kind of message are we sending our kids? Let’s all play nicey nice, but let’s not try to be good at anything. Should we all get together in a group hug and start playing with foam baseballs instead?

...it isn’t as if the 9 and 10 year olds had a meeting and decided to ban Jericho from the league. It is obvious that the parents got together and made this decision. What message is a parent sending his or her own kids? They can play sports, but they should never face an opponent who might be better? Should we pretend that everything in life is fair and even? Should we pretend that there are no challenges in the world? Is that the message we want to send our kids?

When I played little league, there wasn’t a 9 and 10 year old league. We played with the 12 year olds. At 9 years old, a 12 year old is an imposing monster on the mound. That was part of the fun. There was nothing better than a base hit against a pitcher who was a few grades above you in school...

Sooner or later your kids will figure out that life isn’t all fun and games. I’m not suggesting that we throw our children to the wolves, but little league baseball shouldn’t be confused with a rabid pack of wolves. Let kids be kids!"

Truth.

"...Unlike Olbermann, Maddow plans to interview some conservative guests. But she is determined to avoid the left-right pairings that sustain much of cable news.

“It creates fake balance,” she says. “I’m sorry—we’re going to have a debate about whether or not the Earth is flat? It doesn’t make sense to have a debate about whether offshore drilling is going to bring down gas prices. You know what? It’s not. The fact that it’s false ought to be reported, or you’re advancing a lie.”
"The reason our news is so bad is because of this artificial concept of balance, where we have to present both sides, even if one is batshit crazy."

"Conductor on PA: Ladies and gentlemen, this last weekend I went to a club...never again. I walked in, sat down at the bar and ordered a drink. I saw a beautiful lady across the bar, went up to her and said, 'Where have you been all my life?' She said back to me 'I think for the first half of your life, I wasn't born.' This is 59th, Columbus circle, have a good day, ladies and gentlemen.

English is a user-modifiable, perfectly cromulent technology.

Everything changes and evolves...

English is a user-modifiable technology - Boing Boing:
"Here's a stirring Boston Globe op-ed from master lexicographer Erin McKean, presenting the humane case for a dynamic English language in which speakers are allowed to coin neologisms and new usages without grammar tightasses insisting that language is not a user-modifiable technology.
Whenever I see 'not a real word' used to stigmatize what is (usually) a perfectly cromulent word, I wonder why the writer felt the need to hang a big sign reading 'I am not confident about my writing' on it. What do they imagine the penalty is for using an 'unreal' word? ...(In case you noticed cromulent, that was invented in the 1990s for 'The Simpsons.')..."

North Carolina. Of course.
