flipsidemd submitted: Sometimes you gotta look...: "Sometimes you gotta look yourself in the eye and realize the pounds aren’t stubborn. You are. People ask all the time about what workouts to do and what to eat when really the question should be focused on the thought process. How do you think? Are you consumed by reasons (excuses) holding you back or focused on the discipline to move forward. If you’re looking for a quick fix your mind is not in the right place. Pay the cost of commitment and effort. When I started I literally would begin to breathe heavy after just 10 jumping jacks. 10! I couldn’t even run down the block let alone around the block. I could barely get through warmups without taking a breather…and the crazy part?
Back then I would have told you I was in “decent” shape. Looking back now I was far from decent shape and that was confirmed through bloodwork. My mindset in these pictures are the same. Just took my body time to catch up. Because literally the moment you make that decision. really make that decision. You’ve already made it. When you change the way you talk to yourself your habits change. You change. Seeing that shift and being part of the process as a Coach is one of the most fulfilling endeavors I have been a part of. It’s great to be front row for the show. Even better when they join me for events. I’ve seen close to 60 folk to and through their first Tough Mudders, Spartan Races, and Goruck Challenges. No one wants to go play at Worlds Toughest Mudder though…what’s up with that? It’s a happy place people. Happy place! Lol."
