"Do it now."

Coming Soon to a Holodeck near you.  Haptic holograms let you touch the void in VR - tech - 01 December 2014 - New Scientist: "Feeling is believing. A system that uses sound waves to project "haptic holograms" into mid-air – letting you touch 3D virtual objects with your bare hands – is poised to bring virtual reality into the physical world. Adding a sense of touch as well as sight and sound will make it easier to completely immerse yourself in VR. And the ability to feel the shape of virtual objects could let doctors use their hands to examine a lump detected by a CT scan, for example. What's more, museum visitors could handle virtual replicas of priceless exhibits while the real thing remained safely behind glass."

Unbelievable.  Cop Who Killed Tamir Rice Was Previously Kicked off Force for 'Dismal' Gun Performance, Emotional Instability - Hit & Run : Reason.com: "Timothy Loehmann, the Cleveland police officer who shot and killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice within two seconds of encountering the boy, was deemed "unfit for duty" while serving on another police force. Officer Timothy Loehmann, who killed Tamir Rice on 22 November, was specifically faulted for breaking down emotionally while handling a live gun. During a training episode at a firing range, Loehmann was reported to be “distracted and weepy” and incommunicative. “His handgun performance was dismal,” deputy chief Jim Polak of the Independence, Ohio, police department wrote in an internal memo. The memo concludes with a recommendation that Loehmann be “released from the employment of the City of Independence”. Less than a week later, on 3 December 2012, Loehmann resigned. "

  1. Preacher comic nowhere near Walking Dead quality. Have you read it? Enjoyed the first graphic novel, but second volume lost steam quickly. The plot meandered and the violence became gratuitous, rather than essential to the story/character development. Things that were supposed to be funny, like Starr's assistant hiring a male prostitute, the castrated hitman and the obese cardinal, came across as cheap stunts to "shock" the reader. Maybe things like the Nam flashback and learning Cassidy's origin will pay off in future volumes, we'll see. Cheers!

    1. Sorry, disagree. Preacher remains one of my all time faves/Ennis firing on all cylinders. That and Walking Dead, while I enjoy it, are two totally different beasts. Different tones, different genres, different emphasis. Preacher is, simply, one long story. Walking Dead is pretty much a neverending serial, though Kirkman says he knows how it all ends. Obviously, folks like different things. Enjoy what you enjoy. I dig Preacher.
